CSC SIGNS CONTRACT WITH NATIONAL RAILWAY COMPANY OF BELGIUM

May 5, 2008

La SNCB
Brussels - Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has signed a four-year contract with SNCB. Under the agreement, CSC will help SNCB design, create and implement a new SAP-supported organization that will optimize operational processes, assisting 2000 employees in the finance and maintenance departments. Once in place, SNCB will use the new processes to gain a better, more transparent view on its capacity utilization, improve how it uses its assets by becoming more process-oriented and encourage cross-competency cooperation and thinking -- all of this in the goal of building a more efficient railway for passengers, freight customers and suppliers.

«This project should give our people the opportunity to reach their full potential by giving them the best tools and information available, » said Arnold De Brauwer, SNCB chief financial officer. « We want all of our 18.300 employees to realize that we understand how much they contribute to the SNCB every day and that their roles are important. »

« CSC has a legacy of successfully supporting large process transformations, » said Peter Veldeman, CSC’s partner responsible for its Services Practice in Belgium. “Right from the start the SNCB felt comfortable with our collaborative approach, our wide-ranging experience and proven track record of delivering results in the service industry. »

Through this endeavor, SNCB aims to create a working environment with the flexibility to meet today’s needs and adaptable enough to meet the needs of tomorrow. For SNCB the implementation of SAP is a business project in which cooperation and information exchange between people is central. That is the best way for SNCB to improve its competitive position and continue to build upon its recent strong financial results. The additional efficiencies gained through the new SAP processes will also allow the railway to concentrate on several key performance goals including: domestic growth, greater international integration, the development of specialized niche products and an increased focus on Belgium’s expertise in the global logistics market.
